Sam wrote and co-hosted the incredibly successful TV show "Shadetree
Mechanic" on TNN. Shadetree Mechanic had a terrific run of 190
episodes spread over 8 years. Later, Sam wrote and co-hosted "Crank
& Chrome" also seen on TNN. Sam Memmolo, along with his pal
Dave Bowman, set the benchmark for automotive TV programming. Crank
and Chrome has enjoyed 52 episodes. Currently Sam is the Executive Producer
and Host of Two Guys Garage on SPEED.
"Shadetree Mechanic" had a cult-like following and enjoyed
very strong ratings. TNN's viewership included 80 million households
in the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii, in addition to Canada
and Australia. With the 8 year run of "Shadetree Mechanic",
2 years of "Crank and Chrome" and 6 years at Two Guys Garage,
Sam's 16 year TV presence has positioned him as a nationally recognized
automotive expert. Sam's popularity and respect comes from all segments
including performance, hot rod, street rod, and restoration enthusiasts.
All this is an added plus to the scores of "traditional" consumers
who tune in Sam's Garage Radio each week.
Sam's audience includes a wide spectrum of consumers, ranging from folks
who may not want to lift the hood, to serious do-it-yourselfers, professional
technicians, shop owners, and business professionals coast to coast.
Sam's advice is respected, allowing him tremendous impact with his audience.
This loyal following is no accident. It's the result of years of consistently
good programming, straight talk, and solid honest advice.
Sam's credentials include ASE Master Auto Technician certification with
Advanced Driveability rating. With over 40 years of hands on experience,
Sam has owned and operated two very successful automotive service centers
and he has a diverse sales and marketing background. Sam was a Regional
Service Manager for SAAB-SCANIA of Sweden. He later joined ALLEN TEST
PRODUCTS as a technical instructor. His almost 10 years with ALLEN took
Sam nationwide, as the Division Training Manager. He keeps technically
current and continues to conduct training classes, seminars, and consults
with several businesses. He also writes for industry and enthusiast
publications.
On a personal note, Sam and his wife Diana live in North Georgia. Their
6 acres of hardwoods are home to their Hot Rods. Additionally, both
are active in animal rescue and adoption in their home county. Diana
has a 1939 Chevy Master 85 4 door and her dog-mobile 1966 Ford Falcon
Stationwagon. Sam has a 1954 Chevy Pick Up. Sam's personal driver has
been his 2002 Chevy Silverado 3500 Dually with 6.6 DuraMax Turbo Diesel.
Diana is seen around town in her 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora with their dogs
Bowtie, Turbo, Hot Rod and PickUp.
